Step 1. Charging Paw Tracker

Plug in device using the cord provided as shown in one of the 2 images.

If possible, please use an outlet near an exterior window or outside.

(Charge for 3 hours) This will automatically turn ON the device.

Step 2.  Outdoor Calibration and GPS Reset

First, you must turn the device OFF.

To turn OFF the device you must UNPLUG the device and then press the middle button 3 times quickly. If you have done this properly you will see the red and blue lights inside the 2 middle paws flash 3 times quickly. This indicates the device has been turned OFF

Next, take the device outside where you have a clear view of the sky. HOLD down the middle button for 7-10 seconds.  All the lights will flash at the same time and the red and blue lights in the middle will continue to flash slow.  Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for 15 minutes. (This enables a GPS satellite signal to be reached.)

Paw Tracker Location Detection

Paw Tracker is equipped with 3 methods of location detection.

1. GPS (Global Positioning System) accurate between 2-20 feet. This function uses satellites to determine a location so the device must be outside in order for it to work.  The easiest comparison would be when your satellite radio cuts off under a bridge or parking garage. This is the primary location detection function used by Paw Tracker.

2. WiFi location is accurate, but it may show an inaccurate location depending on the address associated with an open wifi router it connects too.

3. LBS is the least accurate location method. It gives the location of a Cellular tower the device is connected too. This may be up to a mile or more away from the actual location of the device.

*Note* Paw Tracker's primary location detection is through GPS. If your device cannot connect to a GPS satellite, (because of an obstructed view) it will cause the device to use one of the back-up location detection functions.

Paw Tracker App Functions

Real Time Tracking

Real Time Tracking is the primary feature used for tracking the Paw Tracker.

It is the most efficient and accurate way to track your pet, because you may adjust the time interval for real time tracking. The time interval for uploading location can be increased or decreased according to your personal usage.

In the app under 'Settings' and then in 'Interval for uploading GPS location' you may adjust the ping time for the device to upload GPS coordinates.

(We recommend using the 1 hour interval) This will significantly increase battery life until needing to be charged again.

*Make sure you have received a current GPS location in the Real Time Tracking feature before using the Geo-Fence or Historical Route features.  You can determine that your device is working by looking at the white box just above the V30-00967 icon located on the map shown above. Make sure the timestamp is current and the location says GPS Online.*
